academy tryouts

U7 (2017) to High School (2008)

We hold our large yearly tryouts to select teams for league and some tournament play. Players who accept an offer are guaranteed a roster spot for November – July at tryouts.

A supplemental tryout is held to fill roster spots. In the summer months, we might evaluate other players who might want to join our program for the months of June and July. Returning players do not need to attend this tryout.

Offers will be sent to the email address used when registering for tryouts within 2 weeks of the tryout date. Offers are valid for 24 hours and must be accepted on the GSS website through PlayMetrics with a deposit.

There will be a Zoom meeting at the beginning of the season for Q&A. Time TBD.

GSF players may not play for another futsal club/team unless given express consent from a GSF Director. No GSF player can play for another futsal club/team against another GSF team in a tournament.

Teams will roster approximately 7 - 9 players.

Teams are chosen by the tier listed below.

  • GSF Gold - 1st

  • GSF Green - 2nd

  • GSF Black - 3rd

We would like at least one parent volunteer to be a Team Admin for each team. Please email Andre@getsharpsoccer.com if you’re interested.

Fees

Fees are estimated and can vary based on tournament fees. Tournaments typically cost anywhere from $15 to $290 per player. Fees will cover coaches’ travel fees (if there are any), including meals, lodging, and tournament fees, depending on the level of play and tournament selections per season. Team fees are estimated below.

Uniform contracts are renewed every two years. This year, new players will buy a uniform. The cost for the uniform kit is approximately $200+. New players need to purchase a new uniform.

There is also a fee for each league governing body that we must participate in for tournaments or leagues. This fee is not associated with Get Sharp. This is typically between $10 and $14.

All summer tournament fees are additional and will be collected at a later time. Gold Teams’ summer training fees are already included in the initial fee. Green, Black, and High School Teams may join the summer program based on player availability and interest.

  • Players may attend more than one night of skill training (not included in fees).

  • Players may be asked to guest play throughout the season for additional game time. (Additional fees may be associated with guest playing.)

  • Each player will receive a GSS training shirt, with the option to order more.
